Atari Jaguar CD
User Reviews about Atari Jaguar CD
With the Jaguar all but dead, Atari finally released their much promised Jaguar CD add-on, but only a small handfull of games were ever released. The add-on itself was pretty much all that the previous reviewer stated: surprisingly speedy loading times and basically very trouble free. However, what makes a system worth playing is the games that are released for it, and only half of the handfull of games released for the Jaguar CD were any good. It's a shame that the Jaguar tanked when it did, because there was so much potential for the system, and especially it's CD add-on, that went to waste and led to Atari taking their final bow. Below is a list of the best games to be released for the Jaguar CD:
Battlemorph
Iron Soldier 2
Dragon's Lair
Myst
Hoverstrike
Highlander -- Add-on that ended up being better than the Jaguar
As most Jaguar fans know, the Jaguar was all but a raging sucsess. In 1995 Atari released the promised Jaguar CD attachment. But by then it was too late, Atari's 64bit power house fell under with only less than 80 games. The CD attachment a fits perfectly ontop of the jaguar. It has twice the speed of the Playstation, a has virtually no loading time. Some of the games can be worth the while. Battlemorph is an extremely addictive 3D flight simulator that allows to even go under water! With no loading time! Other good games are Myst, Hoverstrike and Iron Soldier II. The Jaguar CD even has a cartirage spot for games, so you don't even have to disconnect the CD unit to play cartirage games. Sure the jaguar may not have been a sucsess but I find it endearing and I love the Jaguar CD. -- THE BEST ADD ONS IN THE 32 BIT ERA
